The Numbers

What cam models
actually earn.

Most income write-ups out there are either marketing fluff ("$10k/week!") or doom ("you'll make $40 a session"). Both are wrong. Here's the honest middle.

Bottom 25%

$200–$800

/ month

Streaming inconsistently, 2–4 hours per week. Treating it as occasional supplemental income.

Most common

Middle 50%

$2k–$6k

/ month

Streaming 15–25 hours per week with consistent schedule. Has a few regulars. Treats it as a real job.

Top 10%

$10k+

/ month

30+ hours per week. Multi-platform. Engaged audience built over years. Sometimes a personal brand outside camming.

Ranges drawn from operator-side aggregate data and public industry surveys. Your actual income depends on the variables below, which is the entire point of this page.

What moves the needle

The variables that actually matter.

Hours, more than anything.

The single biggest factor. Tipping happens during the show. More hours live = more chances for a tip session to fire. Models making mid-five-figures broadcast 25–40 hours a week, every week. Streaming twice a month and expecting full-time income is the most common reason people quit early.

Regulars, not first-time tippers.

Most of your income comes from a small number of repeat fans, not a flood of strangers. Building 5–15 regulars who tip consistently is the difference between a hobby and a salary. That takes 2–6 months of being present and approachable.

Multi-platform, but not too multi.

Two cam sites is the sweet spot for most. One pays consistently, the other is your "trying to grow" site. Adding a third splits attention without adding much. Many models also list their content sites (OnlyFans / Fansly) on their Model Page so live viewers can buy clips between streams.

Time of day, time of year.

Evenings and weekends in your audience's timezone matter. December is generally slow (people travel and spend on gifts). January and tax-refund season (Feb–April) are big. Most models who pay attention to seasonality plan vacations around the lulls.

Payout %, the part nobody mentions.

Different platforms pay different cuts. The standard is 30–50% of what tippers spend. Some sites have tiered payouts that go up the more you earn. The cam-site comparison page covers what each one pays.

Real talk

A few things they don't put in the marketing.

  • Taxes are on you. US-based: file as self-employed, pay quarterly estimated taxes, keep receipts. Set aside 25–30% of every payout.
  • Payouts are weekly or bi-weekly. Most platforms pay direct deposit, Paxum, crypto, or check. Minimums are usually $50–$100.
  • Income is bumpy. A $400 night doesn't mean every night is $400. Plan around weekly or monthly averages, not single sessions.
  • Payment processing changes. Banks and processors occasionally crack down on adult creators. Have a backup payout method set up before you need it.
